The New Year is rapidly approaching and so many people see this as a time of change, both physically and emotionally. I personally think change is usually positive. We become engrained and deeply rooted in patterns which can take on a life of their own. To uproot old patterns and start anew can be refreshing and enlightening.
Often times this can be easier said than done. Not to oversimplify but the reason it can be so difficult to establish lasting change is because of repetition. It may sound ludicrous but the reason a concert pianist is able to perform musical wonder also explains why a smoker feels like a prisoner to their habit.
The longer we repeat anything the easier and automatic it becomes, to the point where you don't even have to consciously think about doing it, it just happens. This human feature of ours is such a double edge sword but once you understand the concept and realize that you are the programmer anything is possible.
Hypnosis is an extremely effective tool offering unique access to our inner filing system or long term memory. It is here that you may quickly and easily disconnect from unhealthy patterns of nutrition, sedentary living or irrational fears. Once you cut the cord and plant the preferred seeds of positive change all you have to do is nurture the seedlings so they grow healthy strong roots of their own. My clients go home with a cd of each session and are asked to press play once a day.
Repetition rules with the problems and solutions as well. Who knew it was just a matter of repeating better stuff. The next unexplored frontier isn't outer space but rather the mind and our unlimited potential. Hypnosis=Power. It is simple, soothing and an extremely effective tool enabling positive change beyond belief.

What is Hypnosis?
Have you ever driven to the store and wondered how you got there because you remembered no details of the drive? Or stared at your computer screen for what you thought was an hour only to be surprised that most of the afternoon had disappeared? These are examples of naturally occurring hypnotic trance, which we all experience several times a day.
Hypnosis is the formal process of accessing subconscious thought and then directing it to support intended goals. Think of a hypnotist as a tour guide. They point out wonderful vacation spots in your mind, which you may visit if you choose. They create a safe, relaxing environment and are prepared to direct the client toward the still, peaceful depths of subconscious thought. For most clients hypnosis is the deepest level of relaxation they have ever experienced.
Then the hypnotist offers the clients subconscious mind the help it needs. They assit the client to relax and focus inwardly and then gently give the subconscious mind the new direction it needs. Also, because the imagination is part of the subconscious mind the hypnotist will help clients create vivid imagery involving goals and desires, which can offer dramatically positive results.
The hypnotist should tailor all sessions to the specific needs of the client. A typical session might be 15-25 minutes long. Often there is soft music or nature sounds playing quietly in the background. Some hypnotists may have clients wear headphones, which allows them to blend music and voice while blocking out any extra sounds that may interfere with the process of relaxation. It’s also ideal if clients go home with a reinforcement recording of the session.
